About the Medical Clinic

Tampa Bay Neurocognitive Institute (TBNI) is dedicated to evaluating and treating patients with various neurological and psychiatric disorders. We specialize in conditions affecting memory and cognition, such as Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses. Neurocognitive disorders and dementia are increasingly impacting our families and friends. Over the past several years, significant advances have been made in the diagnosis, management, and care of Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illnesses. This includes emerging therapies that can help slow the progression of Alzheimer’s. At TBNI, we bring these advances to the clinical setting, offering our services to the Tampa Bay region. Given the complexity of this population’s needs, we aim to be a comprehensive center providing a multi-specialty care approach, with crucial support services for patients and caregivers.

We are proud to welcome Anousone Khamphoumy to Tampa Bay Neurocognitive Institute.

Anousone first met Dr. Somphanh Khousakoun through his Lao American Student Foundation, where she made history as its first academic scholarship recipient. Over the years, their friendship and shared passion for community and education have evolved into a professional partnership rooted in trust, shared values, and a mutual commitment to improving brain health.

Meet Meli!

Our Office Pup

Meli is Dr. Khousakoun’s service animal and a cherished member of our clinic family. He is a friendly, hypoallergenic goldendoodle who helps create a calm and welcoming environment for patients and visitors. Gentle, affectionate, and well-mannered, Meli may greet patients as they arrive or be present throughout the office during the day.

If you have a fear of dogs or any concerns about his presence, please let our team know in advance so we can make appropriate accommodations. Our goal is to ensure every patient feels comfortable and supported during their visit.
